Mixed Methods Ph.D. Researcher
I believe that a good work-life balance is important for everyone, but especially for graduate students. I always try to carve out a little time for other activities outside of research!
My primary hobby is the exciting sport of dog agility with my golden retriever, Scout. We have been competing for almost 2 years now, and have earned a handful of ribbons and awards. You may not know this, but in this sport, only the humans get to see the course ahead of a run -- the whole trick is figuring out the best way to communicate with your dog (who hasn't seen this particular combination of obstacles) to get them to follow the correct sequence of obstacles!
Outside of agility, I can also be found cooking and baking. Whenever I have the time, I'm trying out new recipes (my most recent obsession has been making fresh pasta from scratch).
